What is BOVI-SHIELD GOLD ONE SHOT?

BOVI-SHIELD GOLD ONE SHOT is a modified-live virus (MLV) vaccine containing:

  • Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus
  • Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) virus Types 1 and 2
  • Parainfluenza Type 3 (PI3) virus
  • Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV)
  • Unlike traditional 2-dose MLV vaccines, ONE SHOT provides protective immunity with a single administration—ideal for cattle with unknown history or when time doesn't permit a booster schedule.

    When Single-Dose Matters

ONE SHOT is particularly valuable for:

  • Purchased cattle: Unknown vaccination history at arrival
  • Auction/sale barn cattle: No time for 2-dose protocol
  • Emergency situations: Disease outbreak in unvaccinated group
  • Stocker/backgrounder operations: High-turnover cattle
  • Dairy heifers: Moving between custom raisers
  • Modified-Live Advantage

MLV vaccines like BOVI-SHIELD GOLD stimulate both humoral (antibody) and cell-mediated immunity, providing stronger and longer-lasting protection than killed vaccines. The ONE SHOT formulation is specifically designed to achieve protective immunity with a single dose.

    BRD Complex Protection

The four viruses in BOVI-SHIELD GOLD ONE SHOT are primary causes of Bovine Respiratory Disease:

IBR: Causes fever, respiratory distress, abortion; highly contagious

BVD: Immune suppression, abortion, persistently infected calves

BRSV: Severe lower respiratory disease, especially in calves

PI3: Upper respiratory infection, predisposes to bacterial pneumonia

    Key Features

    • Single-Dose Efficacy: Full protection without booster requirement
    • Four-Way Viral Coverage: IBR, BVD (Types 1 & 2), BRSV, PI3
    • Modified-Live Virus: Strong cellular and humoral immunity
    • Rapid Onset: Protection develops within days of vaccination
    • Subcutaneous Administration: 2 mL SQ in neck region

    Advanced Features

    • Respiratory + Reproductive Protection: Prevents abortion and PI calves from BVD
    • Compatible with Antibiotics: Can be given alongside treatment protocols
    • Low-Stress Formulation: Designed for single-handling scenarios
    • Safe for Pregnant Cattle: When properly labeled (check label for specific claims)
